My name is Jonathan. I am 41 years old and live in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Amateur radio has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember—my family is full of hams, including my mom Debbie (KD5LOK), my dad Mike (K5ATM), and my uncle Bill (K7MT).
I am a licensed EMT and earned my certification on February 24, 2010, after the January class was canceled due to weather. I currently work for the State of New Mexico. During my time in EMS, I’ve responded to a wide range of calls, including pregnancy-related emergencies, head trauma, rollover accidents, overdoses, strokes, heart attacks, and many other high-stress situations. I have since upgraded my license and am now an Advanced EMT (formerly known as EMT-Intermediate, which is still the designation used at the state level).
Amateur radio has taught me a great deal over the years. I recently upgraded to General class and have been having a lot of fun expanding my operating privileges. I spend quite a bit of time on the OMISS Net and am making contacts daily.
As of December 3, 2025, I became a lifetime member of the OMISS Net, member number 16468.
Most importantly, I am still happily married to my wonderful wife, Danielle, whom I love very much.
